Accomplishments and Awards

The Association’s Accomplishments and Awards received are as follows:

  • Mira Mesa Town Council San Diego 4th of July Parade – awarded 1st Place in the Float Category, Float of the Year with Trophy, Plaque & $200.00. (5 times in a row in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007)
  • Participated in the American Cancer Society (Relay for Life) at Mira Mesa.
  • Annual participation in the Feed the Homeless Program at Downtown San Diego, CA.
  • Supported the Troops thru American Red Cross.
  • Awarded educational scholarships (Target Education) to deserving students. (2003, 2004, 2005, & 2007)
  • Annually collecting toys for Toys-for-Tots to enable us to fulfill the Christmas wishes of the nation’s neediest children to St. Vincent de Paul, San Diego.
  • Donated $500.00 on January 2, 2004 to the American Red Cross in support of our disaster relief efforts for victims of Southern California Wildfires.
  • Received President’s Community Service Award Plaque on July 24, 2004 Presented by the San Diego Executive Lion’s Club.
  • Received certificate of Recognition for FARSOC from Consul General (L.A.) Marciano Paynor Jr. on June 13, 2004. Presented by US Ambassador from the Philippines, Alberto Del Rosario.
  • Conducted Annual Voters Registration Drives in Riverside County and San Diego County.
  • Received three certificates of Recognition from (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006) from Congressman Bob Filner.
  • Received certificate of Recognition from Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, 36th District, Murrieta, CA, on September 27, 2003 & June 18, 2005 & October 21, 2006.
  • Received Achievement Award from Mayor Mike Naggar, Temecula, CA, on February 15, 2003.
  • Supported and honored soldiers returning from Iraq thru Congressman Bob Filner.
  • Supported Tsunami victims and Humanitarian Assistance for the extensive damage and suffering in the Philippines (central and eastern Luzon) & 1,400 dead and missing (March 27, 2005).
  • Donated Funds to the American Red Cross in support of our disaster relief for victims of recent Southern, Ca. wildfires/storm 2007.
  • Sponsor Free Seminar for Immigration & Naturalization provided by Korenberg, Abramowitz & Feldun Law Office on February 26, 2005, National City Holiday Inn.
  • Donated $500.00 to the American Red Cross for Katrina Disaster Relief on Oct. 8, 2005.
  • Donated & supported Esperanza Fire that left 4 firefighters in tragedy, Dec. 06.

    • Major General Antonio M. Taguba – Asst. Secretary of Nations Defense, U.S.A., who detailed the abuse of Iraqi detainees at the hands of American soldiers in a report that sparked international controversy. He is the highest-ranking Filipino-American in U.S. Armed Forces. Major General Antonio M. Taguba graced our 2005 FARSOC Induction & Veterans Ball.
